PM1 Noir Wedge
Loft Angle

What it is

A carbon steel wedge with a black finish, available in 45, 56 and 60 degree. 239 gram head. Built to do one job well: everything inside 120 yards.

The back cuts

Nine cuts through the back of the head, down from eleven in the first design. Each one is enlarged and its inside edges rounded. Sand, wet grass and dirt move through and around the head instead of packing up behind it. This is about sediment, not air. A wedge swing is too slow for aerodynamics to matter, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

The weight

0.528 pounds. 239 grams. It took six revisions.

The manufacturer's original scan computed at 0.654 pounds. A reshaped version came back at 0.741 and our engineer flagged that it would play like an axe. We slimmed it, thinned it, and pulled material out of the stem, which also moved the center of gravity back to center after physical testing showed it sitting slightly right.

The finish

Noir. A black coating chosen for glare reduction at address and for wear resistance. It will show play. Wedges do.

Honest notes

This is REV 3. Physical testing gave us a short list for REV 4: a little more weight up top, slightly higher toe, more rounding on the sides of the back cuts. We decided to bring REV 3 to market and fund the next round from sales rather than sit on inventory for another year. When REV 4 ships we will tell you exactly what changed.

The wedge is not currently on the USGA conforming list. If you play in USGA-sanctioned competition, wait for us on that one.

THE BUILD

Rebuilt from scratch.

The factory sent us a surface scan of a wedge head. No sketches, no history, nothing you could actually change. Our engineer threw it out and modelled the head again from the ground up, over six revisions. This is that model. Drag it and look at it properly.
